Film wedding photography at Matilda bay restaurant IN PERTH

Abbey and Jordan’s Perth wedding was a super special one; from the fairy floss colourful florals to the garden ceremony to the beautiful water front reception at Matilda bay restaurant, every detail and setting was perfect. I photographed Abbey and Jordan’s wedding day using film and digital photography as I usually do. Film photography makes colourful florals absolutely pop in the most wonderful way so photographing this was extra fun for me! Abbey and Jordan met 8 years ago at the local Sunday session and since then they have build the most beautiful life which includes their puppy

Abbey and Jordan’s ceremony was held at UWA’s sunken gardens, the perfect shaded spot to beat the Perth summer heat. The colourful florals from Bloomin Wild particularly popped here with such a green backdrop. Craig Reilly sung before and after the ceremony and all the nephew’s got a bubble gun at the end for them to walk down the aisle too, a special little touch to keep the kids entertained.

Their reception was a cocktail evening under the stars and by the beautiful water at Matilda bay restaurant. The beat way to watch the sun set. They really wanted a relaxed snd fun evening enjoying the time with their friends and family and thats exactly what it was.

Perth wedding at the WA Museum Boola Bardip

Fontini and Callum’s wedding day was the most beautiful greek wedding in Perth. They worked back to back in the same office for 6 months before either made a move and the rest was history. I photographed using film and digital photography, something I do for every wedding I photograph. It was a wildly hot Australian February afternoon (40 degrees plus) so I count us extremely lucky the only time we were in the crazy heat was during their bridal party photos at Hyde park which we quickly shot before we were all a hot mess. Their ceremony was held at the stunning Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helen and reception inside the WA Museum Boola Bardip.

I photograph every wedding with a mix of film and digital photography, I love the beautiful colours and timeless feel of film but also the reliability of digital, together they’re a perfect combo!

Andonia and Jules Greek wedding

It was the most beautiful greek wedding for Andonia and Jules; full of love, tradition and sentiment. They found so many ways to merge their culture and remember their loved ones. Andonia and Jules decided to marry in the same church as their parents and grandparents; the stefana crowns they wore in the ceremony were first worn by their grandparents and the olive trees in their reception at Fresh water bay Yacht club in Perth were from Andonia’s Pappous’ farm; all ways to remember loved ones who are no longer here and to remember their greek culture.

The wonderful Lara from White events planned and styled their day and along with so many wonderful vendors including Natural art flowers, Hire society, Micktric events lighting, Creative line and co, plus many more made this wedding day a day never to forget! Their vision was bringing Andonia’s Greek hometown of Ithaca to us and boy did White events deliver. From the beautiful olive trees covering the roof which were from Andonia’s Papous farm to the beautiful seating chart written on greek pots; this wedding reception makes me want to jet off and stay in the Greek isles forever!

Andonia’s wedding video was filmed by us! I photographed their wedding using a mix of film and digital photography and Isaac videoed their day; you can watch their full wedding video below!

The boys got ready at a beautiful airbnb in Cottesloe and the girls at Andonia’s family home down the road. Having the getting ready photographed is such a lovely way to capture your family and bridal party before the day really kicks off.

Every part of Andonia and Jules’ wedding day was so beautiful and sentimental; I loved that at every turn they were remembering their family and culture. Their ceremony was held at the same Greek Orthodox Cathedral as Andonia’s parents and grand parents, and they used the same crowns as her grandparents. Their bridal photos were at Cottesloe Civic centre, where they would spend many many evenings together over the years they have been together.

The vision given to White Events was ‘bring Ithaca to us” and thats exactly what they did! From the olive trees which were sourced from Andonia’s Papous’ farm to the seating chart written on greek pots, the olive oil given to guests, and the greek musicians; this wedding reception was a beautiful representation of Andonia’s greek heritage and to be honest makes me want to run away and live on a greek island!

Kaylie and Julien's Jewish Sandalford Wedding

Hora dances, flowers that made me catch my breath, a beautiful Chuppa (a traditional jewish wedding arbour), and the most loved up bride and groom, it was the definition of a perfect wedding day!! Im a huge fan of incorporating family and cultural traditions into a wedding day. Kaylie comes from a Jewish heritage and so decided to add a bunch of their favourite Jewish wedding traditions into the day which made it so much fun. Sandalford Winery’s immaculate and beautiful grounds were the perfect place to host their big wedding day, and thanks to Kara from Hitch’d Weddings, the day ran literally without a hitch, pun intended. Hiring a good wedding planner is an easy way to ensure the day runs smoothly and takes so much stress out of the planning.

I photographed their wedding day using a mix of 120mm medium format film and digital photography, using my last couple rolls of Fuji Pro 400h. For anyone who knows anything about film they’ll know these rolls are almost extinct so I treasure every single one. I shoot both at all my weddings because it’s the best of both worlds, the beautiful timeless feeling of film and also the reliability of digital.

Kaylie and Julien first met at school, and got to know each other while doing homework together as teens! So special and wholesome right?! Some ten years or so later it was so wonderful to be apart of their next step as they became husband and wife.

What an absolutely beautiful and fun wedding reception! Looking absolutely breathe taking thanks to Hitchd weddings and the Flower girl Perth. I am such a fan of incorporating family and cultural traditions into wedding days, Kaylie and Julien started their wedding reception with a Hora dance, a traditional jewish chair dance. It was the most wonderful way to start a wedding reception with all their friends and family!

Perth Family Beach Photography

Rosie, Dion and Alba

I absolutely love being able to photograph ALL of the life events, from weddings all the way through as families grow. I photographed Rosie and Dion’s wedding a few years ago and recently had the absolute privilege of meeting their little lady at sunset by the beach. Perth sunsets in March and April are notorious for being stunning and this evening didn’t disappoint, it was absolutely perfect! Warm, still and golden.

The best way to get candid and fun images of your family that you will love for generations to come is firstly choosing a location you love and enjoy, if you enjoy the beach thats a no-brainer!

Secondly, come and just have fun. Enjoy each others company and let me do the rest.

Thirdly, choosing the right time of day is super important for how the images will turn out. I photographed this family session right at sunset, the best time of the day for golden and soft images with a film photography feel. If you’re worried the kids will get grumpy as sunset is often right at dinner time make sure you feed them before hand and bring some mess free snacks just incase.
