Perth is full of beautiful wedding venues and spaces but sometimes its hard to know where to start. I have been photographing wedding’s in Perth for over 15 years now and so I have made a list of a few of my favourite venues that I have photographed wedding’s at recently and a few wedding planners I have loved working with. Hopefully this will help if the planning is becoming overwhelming.
Choosing a venue really comes down to what it is your after for your big day. Are you after something central? An open air venue? A blank canvas or a fully inclusive space?
Lamonts bishops house in Perth’s CBD.
Lamonts bishops house is easily one of my favourite venues! I love the space, the gardens, the food, the staff. If your looking for a central city venue with classy vibes, this is your venue. Its nice and close to Como the treasury or The Ritz for an easy getting ready location and the gardens are beautiful so no need to go anywhere, however if your heart so desired UWA, Stirling gardens or the Treasury building are a stone throw away and match the vibe perfectly. Como the treasury at the State buildings in Perth’s CBD.
Como the treasury is one of Perth’s most exquisite and luxurious heritage buildings with many difference spaces to suit your wedding style and size. Postal hall is the largest room able to host large weddings or Post has intimate small rooms for your micro mini wedding or elopement. Either way look no further if your after a central city venue with luxury old world vibes.
Brookleigh Estate in Perth’s Swan Valley.
Brookleigh Estate is a great venue if you would like to not travel on the day. Get ready in their onsite accomodation and choose between the many ceremony and reception venue’s. You do however need to organise hire, styling and food vendors which is perfect if you would like a blank canvas. Hiring a wedding planner will make this venue a dream, Veils and vibes planned and styled the below wedding for Toby and Jessica.
Nikola Estate in Perth’s Swan Valley.
Nikola estate is beautiful and an all in one venue. They have the beautiful wedding chapel on the grounds with the vineyard in the background and they now have two wedding reception rooms, their new room is a large, grand space with beautiful linen curtains and black floors which give’s off a lux vibe and would fit a large wedding. Caversham House
Caversham house now allows you to have open air wedding receptions on the grass at the bottom of the stairs, this is what Perth has been waiting for!
Royal freshwater bay yacht club
I have photographed wedding’s at Royal freshwater bay yacht club in Nedlands many many times over the years and have always found them amazing to work with. The view of the river from the room is exceptional and its not far from Cottesloe civic centre if you would like your portraits near by. Matilda Bay Restaurant
Matilda bay restaurant is perfect if your after an open air thats next to the river and is all inclusive. You dont need to provide anything. Its also right next to UWA which is perfect if you would prefer your ceremony in one of their many spots or if you would like to duck over there for some portrait’s. Cottesloe civic centre
Are you looking for a classy, open air venue with european vibes and beautiful gardens? Look no further. Cottesloe civice centre is beautiful in every corner, the gardens are stunning, the stair cases are akin to somewhere in France or Italy and your guaranteed to get beautiful photos. The only down side is you have to bring absolutely everything so having a planner is pretty essential if you would like enjoy the planning process.
