B+O | Perth farm wedding

Olivia and Blakes summer wedding was held at Farm wedding’s in Bullsbrook, Perth under the stars. It was set to be a stinker of a day so they decided to set their time back by an hour making it a perfectly balmy afternoon and evening. I had so much fun capturing this wedding on film and digital photography and also video- scroll down to the bottom to see their wedding video highlight reel!

D+D | Maternity beach photography

Danielle shared “I’ve enjoyed carrying this sweet boy for the past nine months and will miss feeling him this close to me, but we are so ready to meet our little man. So, for now I will enjoy every little kick and move as we count down the days before his arrival as that can be any day now! I am in love with our maternity photos! Thank you @portraits.with.amelia for capturing this special time in our lives. These are photos we’ll cherish forever”

Having a family shoot can be a huge deal when there’s a few tuckers to organise so here’s a few little tips from me to you to help your family session go a little smoother-

1. Choose somewhere that represents you as a family and also somewhere you will look back on and remember all the memories you held together. Does your family like to go to the beach, surf, explore, play, cook. The more familiar or fun the location, the more fun everyone will have.

2. Let’s play! Ill always get the standing-smiling shots but after we get a few let them play and ill run around after the kids getting candids and occasionally asking them to look into the camera.

3. Time of day. Choosing the time of day will dramatically affect the look of the images. If your after the golden sun look- afternoon or early sunrise is best. During the day we can find a shaded spot but the light is always harsher and you can’t replicate that sunny glow you get from the early or evening sun.

4. Outfits. Choose clothes you and your kids feel comfortable in and that represent who you are. Neutrals always work if you’re not sure. But- please don’t match in all white ;) ;)

5. Just roll with it. Sometimes kids have a mind of their own no matter how hard we try so its best to not stress and just try to enjoy the moment as I capture you’re crazy but so rewarding journey as a parent and family.
